In 2011, Sierra Hikes will depart on the trip of a lifetime. We will hike the entire length of the 211-mile-long John Muir Trail!

Winding through three national parks, two wilderness areas and a national monument, the JMT is one of the premier hiking trails in the country. We'll start in Yosemite Valley and hike south through mountain meadows, up and over nine High Sierra passes to our highpoint on the summit of Mount Whitney, and finish at Whitney Portal. This nearly month-long trip is the culmination of many, many months of planning and training. If you think you're up for it, please consider joining me for this spectacular trip.

Very Important: This 26-day trip is tentatively planned to fall between the dates above. Snow conditions will dictate when we go, but it could be any time between mid-July and mid-September.

We will apply for a permit to take a total of twelve people on this trip. Sign up soon because the slots are going fast!
